Smoothie Tip: Add Buckwheat Groats to Your Smoothie

Love having smoothies for breakfast, but want to beef it up a bit?  Try adding raw buckwheat groats on top!

Buckwheat Groats on a SmoothieBuckwheat groats are a gluten-free seed, not grain, and are high in protein (they actually contain all 8 essential amino acids, making them a complete protein), fiber, B-vitamins, and minerals.  They’ll give you extra energy, and add a nice crunch to your breakfast or snack.

Just throw a tablespoon or two on top of your smoothie, and start reaping the benefits!

Happy Thirsty Thursday!

  1. Heheh I do this all the time! LOVE!

  2. I pack so many different things into my green smoothies, I’m having trouble fitting them all in! Tomorrow morning it’s buckwheat groats for sure ;) I have them in my cupboard but don’t use them as much as I should.
