Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m sending tons of love out to each and every one of you today. This will be my third V-Day with Keenan, but honestly, I have no idea how we’re going to celebrate today. I just hope that boy knows how loved he is.
Even if you don’t have a Valentine this year, make sure to at least shower yourself with tons of self-love and care. You are an amazing, important person, and you deserve to be treated like royalty. For some ideas, check out my post 15 Ways to Show Yourself Some Love.
One of my favorite ways to show myself love is to flood my cells with nourishment from green juice.
I feel like there is no end to possible green juice combinations. You can throw just about anything in your juicer and have it turn out well. However, some juices just come out amazingly.
As the name states, today’s juice recipe is for all of the citrus lovers out there, as it combines three different citrus fruits, grapefruit, orange, and lemon. It has a punch of green, with cucumber and romaine, which are both mild enough not to cover up the bursting citrus flavor.
Citrus fruits provide you with bucket-loads of immune-boosting vitamin C (well over 100% of your daily requirement), and heart-healthy phytonutrients. For you mamas-to-be, citrus is high in folate, which helps prevent birth defects.
Ingredients
- 1 grapefruit
- 1 navel orange
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 cucumber
- 1/2 head romaine
- 1″ chunk ginger
Directions
1. Wash all of the ingredients. Peel all of the citrus. Try to remove as much of the bitter pith/skin as possible from the grapefruit, leaving only the sweet flesh.
2. Run all of the ingredients through the juicer. Repeat, to remove remaining juice from the pulp.
One warning: if you are on prescription medication, check with your physician before drinking grapefruit juice. Certain compounds in grapefruit cause many medications to become either more or less potent, so you don’t want to take any chances.
Are you a citrus lover? How are you spending your V-Day?

Yum! I usually have grapefruit first thing in the morning but haven’t thought to juice it yet. Do you normally put the citrus through he juicer or do you press the juice?
