What I Ate Wednesday #18

What up, guys?  How’s your week going so far?  I’m on the second day of my weekend over here.  Is it sad that instead of relaxing, or doing something fun, on my weekend I’d rather just clean my house from top to bottom?  I slack so badly on housework during my workweek, that by the time I have time I’m dying to get in there and clean!  Anyone on my page here?

Anyway, it’s What I Ate Wednesday yet again, so I’m linking up with Peas and Crayons, to show you a day of eats!  This was a pretty yummy one, not gonna lie.

Aloe shots have a serious cooling sensation. I swear I can almost feel myself becoming more alkaline as I drink it.

After my aloe, I got down on some yerba mate tea with lemon.   I was dragging a bit, and yerba mate works as a natural stimulant.  It’s pretty cool!

My real breakfast was a yummy triple berry green smoothie.  Try giving this one to picky eaters, because the berries totally cover up all of the green color from the spinach!  This combo was blueberry, strawberry and blackberry.

When I arrived at work, I stopped through the cafe and picked up a soy chaiChai is a serious addiction of mine.  I still don’t know how I managed to make it all of the way through Lent without it this year!

I bought my lunch at work.  The vegan selection there can be a bit slim, but I found a vegan Mediterranean soup, and a whole grain bagel.  The soup was really good, and a dipped the bagel in it like a roll.  So, so delicious!

It might seem strange that I’m eating hot soup on a hot summer day, but I’ve been trying to get more soups and tea into my diet lately, because it’s supposed to be beneficial for my Ayurvedic body-type.  My type is Vata, which has a tendency to be cold and dry, so warm liquids, like teas and soups, are supposed to help balance that out.

My dinner at work, was a delicious Mexi bowl.  Actually, the same one that I posted on Monday!  After I photographed it, put the lid on it, and took it to work with me.  There, I mixed up and took another, much less pretty, picture of it.  Seriously, though, it tastes so incredibly good.

My snack on my last break was a juicy orange.  I’ve been bringing a piece of fruit for a snack at work pretty much everyday recently, whether it’s an orange, apple, banana, peach, or whatever.  It gives me a nice boost to finish off the last couple hours at work.

After work, I headed down to Barrio to have a cocktail, munch on chips and salsa, and wait for Keenan to get off work.  I totally forgot to snap pictures of anything, but I’m sure Mexican restaurant chips and salsa aren’t too difficult to imagine.

Of all the things that I ate, my favorite was definitely the Mexi bowl.  You have to try it!

What is the best thing you’ve eaten recently?

Have an amazing day, and come back tomorrow for a bombtastic vegan milkshake recipe!

Aloe shots? What are these body types you’re talking about?

I’ve been drinking aloe vera juice sometimes. You don’t have to take a lot of it, so I just take it like a shot.

The body types are from Ayurveda, traditional Indian medicine. You can do a quick quiz to find yours here. I’m reading a book about it right now, it makes a lot of sense.
