What I Ate Wednesday #8

Hola!  How’s your week going so far?  It’s been pretty slow over here.  Keenan and I haven’t had any corresponding days off from work lately, so we haven’t really had too many of our usual adventures.

Yesterday was my day off for the week, and honestly, I spent the vast majority of the day doing laundry.  Woohoo!  Luckily it wasn’t a totally lame day, because my mom came out and took me to lunch!

Here’s the recap of my eats of yesterday:

Okay, so that extra cup of veggies thing? Totally failed yesterday.  No worries, I have some veggieliciousness planned for today! (Don’t you love it when I make up words?)

I started out my morning with a nice mug of hot water with half a lemon squeezed in, snuggled in bed.

After staying in bed for way too long (til 11ish!) I finally got up and made myself some yummy fresh juice to drink while getting dressed to go out with my mom.

Grapefruit, carrot, and ginger.  Zingy!

For lunch, I directed my mom to the same restaurant where I went with my dad for my birthday last month, Thai 65 in The Renton Landing.

After searching the menu, I ended up going with the exact same dish that I ordered the last time I went, Spicy Drunken Noodles with tofu.

It was nice to sit and chat with the madre.  It’s definitely been a while.

After lunch, we browsed around Value Village together for a while, but neither of us found any treasures.

She took off, and I headed home for a long afternoon/evening of laundry.  Eight loads!  Yeah.

Arlo helped.

Somewhere in the middle I took a break, and gobbled down my Thai leftovers.

After I finally got all of my fresh, clean clothes put away, I made myself a green juice

and got my yoga on.

Check out that post-yoga glow! (And ignore the crazy post-yoga hair! ;) )

Keenan came home from work just as I was headed into savasana, bringing my dinner with him.  I finished up and dug into the delicious pasta dish that he brought me.

Penne with pesto and roasted tomatoes.  Keenan always gives me a choice of what I want him to bring home for me to eat from the restaurant, and I almost always say pasta.  It’s addicting.

I can’t say that this is a typical or healthy day of eats for me.  I tend to be much more organized about eating on work days, and on my days off everything kind of goes to the wind.  Today I’ll be back to smoothie, salads, and other delicious whole foods, like normal.  There’s nothing wrong with taking a day off of healthy eating, as long as you get back to it the next day.  It’s no fun to let your diet rule your life!

I hope you have an amazing Hump Day!  I’m off to go run four miles!
