Okay, so my birthday wasn’t actually that adventurous, but I enjoyed it!
I slept in, then got up to hang out with my dad for a good portion of the afternoon. He brought my new baby with him, a Canon Rebel T3!
My old camera, a Canon point-and-shoot, was falling apart, so it was even more exciting for me to get a new camera. Much less, the D-SLR that I’ve been dreaming about! I’m pretty much in love.
Keenan had to go to work, so my dad and I went out to lunch at Thai 65 at The Landing in Renton.
I didn’t get any shots of the interior, mostly because I’m not quite comfortable busting out my giant camera quite yet, but it was gorgeous. A lovely atmosphere.
The food was also great! I ordered the Spicy Drunken Noodles with tofu.
I’m obsessed with Thai rice noodles. They usually come in some awesome sauce, and I really like the texture. I savored every bite, and enjoyed it just as much as leftovers later in the night!
Actually, I might just be obsessed with Thai food in general, because I went to a Thai restaurant for my last birthday, as well! It never disappoints.
After lunch, I planned on getting my hair cut (part of Keenan’s b-day present to me). The went into the salon that I was planning on going to, and found out that they were booked until next week. Then, my dad and I drove around trying to find another salon that had been recommended to me. They were also booked up, so I decided to forgo the haircut for the moment.
I said goodbye to my dad, and he headed back to Silverdale. I headed to the mall to do a bit of shopping. I picked up a couple of shirts and a pair of red skinny jeans that I’m pretty stoked about.
I went home, played with Arlo for a bit, before changing to go grab some wine at the wine bar/restaurant where Keenan works.
I went with the 14 Hands Cab Sauv.
I sat and read my book, while getting random birthday congratulations from Keenan’s co-workers. I was surprised with a delicious dinner of butternut squash ravioli, that they cooked up special just for me.
A little bit later, I was surprised even more when one of the bartenders, Rhiannon, brought me out a berry crisp with a candle in it.
This was all in the middle of a busy Friday night at the bar. I felt pretty special. They even let Keenan off an hour early, so he could hang out with me. He grabbed a beer at the bar, and I had a second glass of wine, before we went home to have a quiet night in.
I enjoyed a Mexican Coke (made with real sugar instead of HFCS), and we had a Buffy the Vampire Slayer marathon.
I munched on my Thai leftovers, and scratched the Scratch tickets that Keenan got for me.
That was about the sum of my day and night. It was great. Much less wild than previous birthdays, and that was exactly how I wanted it. I must be getting old.
Have a great day!
