Show Me Saturday: St. Dames

Last night, I enjoyed dinner at a wonderful vegetarian restaurant called St. Dames

I discovered St. Dames thanks to an article tweeted by Seattle Magazine.  The author was an omnivore who raved about the amazing food at the restaurant, saying that he didn’t even miss the meat in their scrumptious dishes.  I knew immediately that I had to check the place out!

The bf is always a bit wary of veg restaurants, but he perked up as soon as he saw that one of the Happy Hour draft beers was an new-to-him IPA.

If beer can’t make that boy happy, I don’t know what could!  I went with the  Odin’s Gift Ruby Ale, which was great!

I originally intended on ordering an appetizer, since the menu included such delights as samosa-style hush puppies and fried zucchini with vegan ranch.  However, by the time our order was taken I was so fixated on the entree choices that I completely forgot to get an app!

After spend quite a while deliberating over all of the amazing sounding entree options, I finally settled on the delicatta risotto.

I almost had to go with the lentil curry in the spirit of yesterday’s Food Facts Friday post, but the risotto won out with it’s combination of squash and mushrooms.  I’m totally glad I made that choice, because, let me tell you, the risotto was to die for!  Sooo creamy and flavorful!

Another thing to make me love St. Dames?  The amount of kale featured on their menu!  I had braised kale as a side dish, and ate every single bite.  These folks know how to cook kale!

Keenan’s entree featured kale, as well!  He went with the kale ravioli in goat cheese sauce, with a side of French fries.

He definitely loved it.  He was asked if he wanted ketchup for his fries, and responded with “Nah, the cheese sauce is great!”  Cheese and fries, two easy ways to make a boyfriend-friendly meal. :)

In between eating and drinking, we also managed to have ourselves a silly photoshoot.

I love him!

It was an awesome night, and I definitely recommend checking out St. Dames if you’re in the Seattle area!

Enjoy your weekend!
