Okay, so many wonderful things came out of my kitchen today that it blows my mind! If you didn’t see my breakfast this morning check it out here, because it was a great one! Now my apartment smells like an incredible combination of Keenan’s slow-cooker chili and fresh baked bread machine bread! I couldn’t ask for a better combination of aromas!
Today has certainly been a busy one! I spent the majority of the day rearranging my living room, putting away odds and ends, and breaking down moving boxes to finally get out of the house. The only thing left to do now is to buy the hardware that we need to put the kitchen table together, and the new apartment will be complete! Having everything in chaos stresses me out, so it’s nice to be getting everything put together and away.
After I finished with my homemaking, Keenan and I decided to go for a walk with Arlo. We still haven’t been up to the back of our apartment complex yet, so we decided to walk up there and check it out. Half way up we discovered a trail through the woods. It was starting to get dark, so it was kind of creepy, but we followed it. Eventually led to another apartment complex, so we turned around and headed back.
Dinner
The scent of baking bread hit us in the face when we got back home. We couldn’t get to the food fast enough!
Mr. Arlo waited patiently while we got everything plated up. He knows that he’ll get something eventually, even if it’s just a bowl to lick.
Finally dinner was served!
The bread is completely incredible! So light, with the most amazing flavor and crispy crust! I’ll put up the recipe tomorrow.
The chili was quite something itself. My boyfriend knows how to make a mean pot of chili, and tonight was no exception! It contained everything but the kitchen sink, and had quite a kick to it, provided by cayenne pepper, chili powder, salsa, and fresh jalapeno. One day I will have to make Keenan guest post on his chili process. I swear it’s an art!
I’ve got to go hang out with the boys, so I’ll talk to you tomorrow!
