Hey buddy! How’s your night going?? I hope awesome!
Wanna hear the grossest thing that I’ve ever seen on a city bus? Well, too bad, cause I’m gonna tell you anyway!
I was on the bus, heading from work to the ferry terminal, and an old man got on the bus at a different hospital that had a pretty strong poop (hehe) smell to him. When he got off of the bus a few stops later, he left a little brown puddle on the seat where he was sitting. The driver had to take the bus out of commission at the next stop so it could be sanitized. Thank goodness it went out of commission at the stop that I get off at!
Yeah, I know, “Cool story, Hansel.” (Shameless Zoolander reference.)
Overall, I would say that I had a pretty darn good day! I had a meeting with my manager and my superviser when I got to work today. I stiiiiilllllll can’t tell you guys what’s going on, since I don’t yet know myself. I promise I’ll let the big secret slip as soon as I hear anything solid. It’s driving me craaaazay!
I continued my awful trend of buying the majority of my food from the hospital cafeteria today. The choices today didn’t totally suck though!
I started off my lunch today with a nice cup of veggie chili.
I love the chili at my work because it’s always got all sorts of fun stuff like quinoa and zucchini in the mix!
On my second break, I enjoyed the kale salad that I brought from home.
It was deliciously sunny outside, so I spent my break sitting at one of the umbrella tables outside of the hospital. I think I got a fresh sunburn within 10 minutes of being out there. Soaking up all that vitamin D while I get the chance!
This salad was also my first time eating beets, other than one horrible juicing experience that almost made me puke! I bought a pre-steamed pack from Safeway a while back, and sliced up two of them for my salad today. I love how sweet they are! Not quite as “root-y” as I expected.
I also expected the clean up to be horrific, but I rinsed my cutting board, knife, and hands as soon as I finished slicing the beets, and all the purple mess came right off!
Other salad ingredients included kale, chickpeas, avocado, lemon juice, and a pinch of cayenne.
I didn’t want to leave the sunshine, but eventually my lunch was over and I headed back in to sit in front of the computer and take more patient food orders. Mostly sitting, since today was a super slow day. Blahhhhh.
My dinner was another delightful surprise from the cafeteria. They had a great combo of pasta with an artichoke sauce.
It was so good! I need to give the cooks that I work with some serious props, cause they rock! I really didn’t think that the sauce would be vegan, so when I was told that it was I almost did a happy dance! I devoured that entire plate on my 15 minute break. Win!
So what would I count as my three things today?
1. I got a workout in! (Working out has been on my list three days in a row, strange?)
2. I finally wrote the post about Green Smoothies that I’ve been meaning to do!
3. That stud muffin that I live with finally got his cell to work today, so I was actually able to text him throughout the day! It hasn’t been charging consisitently, so it’s usually off. Going 12 hours without talking to Keenan is like trying to take the rocks from a crackhead!
Since I’ve got my Zoolander quote, what movies or shows do your find yourself quoting constantly?
I still use “mi scusi, mi scusi” from Eurotrip alllll the time. Especially at work. It makes me giggle.
See you tomorrow!

favorite quotes, although I don’t say them a lot:
“Laugh it up, Fuzzball.”
“I would like to have seen Montana.”
“Would you like something to drink? Maybe some haaaaammm?”
“My baby’s all growed up and savin’ China.”
I love that I can actually tell you what every single one of those quotes is from!
